Even better, it’s a long-lasting, versatile, and affordable solution. A mosaic floor can bring a touch of sophistication, luxury and elegance to your bathroom, kitchen, conservatory, or hall floor, taking inspiration from ancient traditions whether it’s made from a single material or a mixed mosaic

We stock a wide range of mosaic flooring tiles to suit all tastes and needs. Perhaps you’re looking for a natural stone mosaic tile made from travertine or marble, or really want to create a serene environment with a solid look of natural stone with mosaics made from basalt, granite, limestone, onyx, slate or sparkling quartzite

Or maybe glass or porcelain mosaic tiles are a better option for you. We even have ceramic floor mosaic tiles that can really make an impressive statement in your residential or commercial building. To bring a beach feel to a bathroom, it’s not an uncommon choice to choose mosaics which have shell or pebble detailing, and stone and glass work well together too in this wet environment.

A MOSAIC TILE BLACKSPLASH TO BRIGHTEN YOUR BATHROOM

One of the best and most popular uses of this type of tiling is as a mosaic tile backsplash to brighten up bathrooms, washrooms, and ensuites. With such a wealth of options to pick from, it couldn’t be easier to create your desired aesthetic. We have both multicolored and solid color tiles in our range that you can arrange in intricate or simple patterns to complement your décor. In a bathroom the main colors which seem to be used are white, beige, ivory, taupe, brown and blue as they have the potential to expand the space, but it’s not uncommon to see blacks, golds, greens and grays used to maximum effect in larger spaces.

Create a timeless color combination with Victorian-inspired black and white tiles or opt for something more modern and contemporary. You can even use pops of color in your bathroom to create a feature area, so why not splash out with oranges, pinks, purples and reds.Either way, you’re sure to find just the right designs and patterns to take your bathroom to new heights of elegance.

Glass mosaic tiles are a popular option for walls, but as they’re extremely versatile, they can be used for a host of applications including in showers and backsplashes.

We have glass mosaic tiles in a variety of attractive patterns, from classic squares to hexagons, triangles, rectangles and more. It’s even possible to create a range of different looks by using glass mosaic tiles, with products that look like concrete, fabric, and brick.

HOW TO CUT MOSAIC TILE

One of the easiest and best ways to cut mosaic tile is to use a simple manual tile cutter. You’ll find this a speedy and efficient solution. Manual cutters require no electricity or water, so they’re also convenient.

If you’re cutting mosaic tiles made from natural stone, however, a wet cutter is a better choice. You’ll need water to cut natural stone since it will keep the electric cutter’s blade lubricated and cool during the cutting process.

WHAT IS MOSAIC TILE?

Mosaic tile is a term used to describe a design of tiles made up of small pieces that are put together to make a bigger pattern. Mosaic styles range from the complex to the simple, but in most cases, they feature repeating shape sets, which are often square, rectangular, or hexagonal.

HOW TO INSTALL A MOSAIC TILE BACKSPLASH

To install a mosaic tile backsplash, the first step is to choose the right starting point to install your tiles. Next, you should spread a thinset or mastic layer onto the wall with a trowel. Apply spacers then align your first sheet of mosaic tile with your centerline above your spacers. Squeeze the sheet down against your wall to make sure the tiles are firmly in the adhesive. Continue placing the sheets while ensuring they appear continuous. Once all the tiles are aligned correctly, leave to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before grouting your newly installed backsplash. You can even buy peel and stick mosaics to make the task easier for small spaces.

WHAT SIZE TROWEL FOR MOSAIC TILE?

Mosaic tiles are generally small, and therefore, using the smallest size trowel is the best way to ensure a careful and mess-free approach to installation. A 3mm to 4.5mm trowel will be the ideal size for mosaic tiles measuring 10cm x 10cm or smaller. If your mosaic tiles are slightly larger than this, you should opt for a 6mm trowel.

HOW TO GROUT MOSAIC TILE

Mix water with your grout until it has reached the correct consistency then apply grout to the tile’s surface using a grout float, held at an angle of 45 degrees so you can work the grout effectively into the tile joints. Once the joints have been filled, scrape the excess grout away. Wait for ten minutes, then use a damp sponge to wipe any remaining grout from the tiles’ surface.

HOW TO MAKE MOSAIC TILES

Although it’s possible to create your own mosaic by putting together standard tiles in a pattern of your own choosing, it’s best to buy ready-made mosaic tiles that have been pre-designed and prepared for you. We have a wide variety of different mosaic tiles to pick from in our range, all manufactured by leading brands.

WHAT ADHESIVE FOR MOSAIC TILES?

There are two types of adhesive that work best for mosaic tiles. The first is a cement-based thinset, and the second is epoxy. Thinset mortar is ideal for any area that will be exposed to water and heat. Meanwhile, epoxy mortar will be very strong and durable.
