Product Info

Burnt Sienna slate adds a touch of warmth to your interior. It has a rusty, brown-red color palette which creates a cozy and inviting environment. It has a slight variation in shading throughout the stone, where some areas appear lighter than others. This adds to the stone's natural texture, giving it authenticity. The pattern is fairly consistent and, while each tile is different from the next, the overall effect is a reliable design. Burnt Sienna gives a mellow, homely feel to a traditional country-style interior.

Slate is an incredibly durable stone, up there with granite as one of the hardest tiles on the market. It is a metamorphic rock created when layers of sediment are altered to form a solid stone. It naturally forms into sheets that can easily be cleaved into tiles.

Its hardwearing nature makes it ideal for use on high-traffic areas of the home such as hallways and kitchens. Like most natural stones, it is porous and therefore will require a stone protector to seal its top layer to prevent moisture seeping into the tile. After this has been completed, it is suitable for use in high-moisture areas including bathrooms. Its dark color makes it fairly resistant to staining.

Slate has an organic, rugged texture which is what makes it so popular with designers, therefore it suits a finish which maintains this quality. The natural cleft face of this tile ensures the grooves and ridges of the stone are left intact.

As well as creating a great feature, it's also an incredibly practical finish. The riven surface of the tile provides great traction, meaning skids and slips are less likely.

It's also ideal for those who want a tile that is hardwearing. Whereas some finishes can be worn-down by high levels of traffic and dirt scraping the surface, a natural face only becomes more authentically aged. Wear and tear benefits the finish by adding a rustic effect. Just like a reclaimed flagstone looks better with age, so will these Burnt Sienna slates.

A slate tile looks beautiful in a country-style kitchen or traditional hallway. Add cream-colored walls and kitchen cupboards to blend warm tones and create a cozy, homely feel. Incorporate rustic patterned textiles and natural materials for that forest-lodge effect.

Burnt Sienna slate can even be used for exterior applications. Give your garden year-round heat by creating a rugged garden patio. You can even use it to design your own outside kitchen, surround your fire pit or permanent barbeque with these tiles and you'll have the perfect outside space to while away those summer evenings in.
