    HOW THICK IS 20 MIL VINYL?

    20 mil vinyl comes in a range of thicknesses. We stock options up to 9mm thick. Many people are confused about what the term “mil” means. Although it may seem to be an abbreviation of millimetre, in fact it is an entirely different measurement, relating instead solely to the flooring’s wear layer. A 20 mil vinyl has 20 protective layers of coating which is equivalent to around four sheets of plastic food wrapping.  

    CAN MY CRICUT CUT 20 MIL VINYL?

    Cricuts are designed to cut a wide range of different materials including vinyl, however they are only capable of cutting materials up to around 2.4mm in thickness. They aren’t really designed for cutting flooring, only vinyl for decals. Although you may possibly be able to cut the thinnest of our 20 mil vinyls, most of our flooring is thicker than 2.4mm and must therefore be cut with a utility knife. 

    HOW IS 20 MIL VINYL AT HOLDING HEAT?

    The thicker the vinyl, the better it will hold in heat and offer better insulation for your property. If you opt for the thickest 9mm product along with a 20 mil wear layer, you can expect your floor to boast impressive insulation properties in even cold weather.

    What if the warehouse closest to you doesn’t have the item you have selected in stock?

    They can usually bring it in within a few days. If the manufacturer is willing to do this as a courtesy we will pass on that courtesy to you.  If there are any fees for this we will let you know so you can decide.  We always find out the exact timeline and email you to confirm if that is okay. If that doesn’t work for you then you will get a 100% refund. If it does, we proceed and email you when it is ready for pickup.
