Textured tiles give a three-dimensional effect thanks to clever printing on flat tiles or fully textured tile with ridged, embossed, and undulating surfaces giving your surfaces new appeal.

    Textured tiles add a little something different to your interiors. Moving away from variations of matte, polished and honed finishes, textured tiles have a unique finish all of their own, bringing structure and form to a room in a way that flat tile doesn’t.

    Fabric look tiles are a wonder, and when laid on walls and backsplashes, go a long way to emulate the textural atmosphere of wallpaper.     WHAT ARE LARGE FORMAT TEXTURED TILES? 

    These are tiles that have at least one edge measuring over 12 inches. The textured surfaces of these tiles may come from a visual, ‘printed’ texture on a smooth porcelain tile, or naturally present elements in real stone. Other textures come from embossing intricate patterns into the tile, notched striations, or gentle grooves.

    HOW DO YOU CUT LARGE FORMAT TEXTURED TILE?

    Because of the irregular, undulating surface it is better to use a wet tile cutter with a diamond blade for precision, rather than using a manual score and snap style tyle cutter.

    ARE LARGE FORMAT TEXTURED TILES EASY TO LAY? 

    Textured tiles take a little bit more consideration to lay. For large format tiles, you would normally enlist the help of another person and lay the tile into position using suction cups. Generally, they adhere only to flat surfaces like smooth tile or glass, however textured tiles with irregular surfaces can’t make a tight enough seal. If you are choosing to install a textured tile by yourself, it is worth investing in a rough surface suction cup to prevent any risk of dropping and damaging the tile or hurting yourself.
