Product Info

Turco Classic Travertine is a dark cream or beige color with slightly brown undertones. They have a subtle mottled pattern, a natural look that emphasizes the stone's origins. It is the perfect neutral color palette to match with almost any decor. If you're looking for a blank page to build a gorgeous interior on, this is the perfect tile for you.

Travertine is formed in a similar way to limestone. Mineral deposits are compressed into layers by water over millions of years. Where Travertine differs slightly, is that fast-moving water must be present. This is often in the form of cold or hot springs. The water's ferocity causes little bubbles of gas, this results in tiny pits and holes in the stone's surface, a look that is unique to travertine.

This beautiful stone is suitable for a variety of applications, including flooring, walls, backsplashes, and more. It is durable and hardwearing, so is more than capable of resisting the wear and tear that hallways and kitchens experience. Travertine is slightly porous, and therefore to prevent stains caused by oils and acids, many choose to seal their stones upon installation. This will ensure your tile's longevity, improving your investment.

Created with a honed finish, the tiles are ground to a totally smooth, silken surface. There are no bumps or ridges left in the tile, making it feel gorgeous underfoot. The natural matte effect of the unpolished stone is left as it is. This creates the perfect modern and contemporary blank canvas.

This finish is perfect for commercial uses, as well as in the home, as the matte surface needs little maintenance. It can cope with high-traffic areas and is extremely durable.

These tiles are cross cut, meaning they are sliced through the vein as opposed to with the vein. This creates a cross-sectional view of the stones formation. The tiles appear non-uniform, with both light and dark tones appearing on the same slab. Those who prefer a cross tile argue it appears more artisan and gives a wholly original effect to each individual stone.

This neutral-toned tile provides the perfect blank canvas for any interior. If you're looking for a stone which can change with the times and match with almost any interior design, then travertine is perfect.

The matte finish gives a contemporary edge to this traditional stone. You're also getting exquisite value for money, as it's often difficult for the untrained eye to tell the difference between this and the more expensive veins.
