Traxx Flooring Underlayment For Every Room

Fitting a properly prepared base is essential for moisture control before the final floor is fitted, whether it’s a tile floor, vinyl, laminate, or hardwood. The Traxx range is popular because it includes everything from wood underlayment and plywood underlayment to recycled composite and loose lay formats. These are made to sit below the actual flooring and it helps installers lay a smoother and more suitable foundation for the flooring to sit on top of, providing a strong base whatever you’re laying on top of it. Many types of flooring benefit from the additional support of a subfloor, especially if the existing one is not in good condition or has issues with moisture, such as basement level installations. The collection here at Stone & Tile is more practical than decorative as it will be covered up, so the focus is on stability and surface quality, making it ideal for both residential and commercial projects. Browse the right underlayment for your next project here at Stone & Tile with Traxx products.

  • USE TRAXX UNDERLAYMENT FOR BETTER FLOOR PREPARATION

The range of Traxx underlayment here at Stone & Tile is designed for the preparation stage of flooring projects, especially where the quality of the base will affect the final installation. Before the visible flooring is fitted, whether it’s laminate, hardwood, tile or vinyl, the surface below it needs to be suitably prepared as it helps the flooring sit more evenly and reduces issues with the surface. This is true when the existing subfloor is concrete or existing flooring that cannot be fully removed, such as old vinyl.

A new layer of underlayment gives contractors the smooth surface they need to lay a floor that is perfectly level and will last for many years to come. With wood, plywood and composite options, these choices form the suitable foundation you need because they support whatever is being laid on top of it in a way that isn’t possible by laying directly onto a rough subfloor. One of the main issues when laying flooring is moisture control, as even the smallest amounts of moisture can cause floors to warp and bend, such as engineered hardwood. Concrete slabs of flooring are a sturdy foundation, but over time moisture can work its way up and damage the visible flooring, whether you have laminate, vinyl, tile or a hardwood.

The Traxx underlayment not only forms a smooth surface, but it stops the risk of moisture whether you’re installing it in a residential or commercial property. It has numerous advantages over other forms of moisture control such as sheets, as it stops the flooring on top of it from sliding and offers grip and traction. When you need more than just a quick covering for a beautiful floor, choose Traxx and the smooth panel layer will serve multiple purposes.

WOOD AND PLYWOOD UNDERLAYMENT FOR A SMOOTH FLOORING BASE

A finished floor is only as good as the subfloor it’s laid on, so that’s why Traxx offers both wood and plywood as choices to give the best base to work from. Subfloors can be messy and rugged, which will damage your beautiful flooring, but when you lay underlayment down first, you are assured of a clean finish that allows the main flooring to be resilient, whether you’re opting for vinyl sheet or laminate planks

Wood underlayment is one of the most practical options for subflooring preparation as the veneer it creates is perfectly flat and smooth ready for whatever you want to lay. When there is a printed nailing pattern on the underlayment too it can make fastening even easier and straightforward rather than having to second guess how it should be tacked down. Multi-ply sheets are an affordable alternative to wood and reduce issues with installation especially when you are working with an uneven surface that needs to be perfectly flush before the main flooring goes on.

The plywood options from Traxx are CARB compliant and they come in different thickness layers, giving installers the best choice for the individual project. Ideal for both residential and commercial floorwork, this underlayment benefits from square edges so you can align it properly from the start, as well as fastening guidance.

    COMPOSITE UNDERLAYMENT FOR VINYL FLOORING

The consistency of the surface on which the main flooring is laid is important when you’re laying vinyl sheet or luxury vinyl planks, as even the smallest discrepancies in level can pose not only a visual issue, but a trip hazard too. Composite underflooring made from recycled materials is a strong choice as it’s affordable and lets the base layer perform well. Vinyl sheet that is laid directly onto a poor subfloor can wear out more quickly, and small bumps can tear through the vinyl over time when it is walked on, even in areas of low traffic. Placing furniture on top of vinyl flooring that does not have a proper underlayment can cause it to shift positions and damage the new vinyl flooring, or become unsteady.

With a thick layer of underlayment, vinyl planks can also be laid more easily whether you’re planning on nailing them down, glueing them, or having them as a floating installation. This underlayment is ideal for a new construction in a property, or to be used in remodelling projects where there has previously been an issue with either moisture or uneven floor levels. You can continue the underlayment throughout the space whether it’s an open plan design, or you plan on having different flooring options in the same area to divide rooms.

With Traxx underlayment, you will notice the difference when the floor is walked on. Flooring options won’t shift underfoot as you walk along them, and the underlayment also provides suitable acoustic protection if you’re choosing engineered hardwood or wood-like flooring options such as luxury vinyl plank or tile. Taking the time to lay proper underlayment will ensure that your new floor stays looking and performing to the best of its ability for many years to come, and guarantees a professional installation to a high standard thanks to the new and improved surface to lay on.
