CEMENT TILE – DECORATIVE APPEAL

Cement tile is far from being the dull material that first springs to mind when we think about it. In this range we have patterned and solid-look tiles to inspire and delight your interiors. Playing with neutrals with a smoky black, taupe, and gray bias, as well as aquatic teals and turquoise, this selection of intricate tiles brings you a stunning way to elevate your design themes.

You can stick with one tile design or mix and match them to create a unique patchwork of contrasting patterns in harmonious colorways. Suitable for use in most locations, these tiles are able to be used as flooring, backsplashes, countertops as well as for exterior uses.

With their flowing patterns and Mediterranean colors, these tiles lend themselves well to creating striking themes in a garden. Use them to tile the walls of raised flower beds, or to frame a courtyard patio for color all year round. They are a nice addition to a feature wall with a fountain, for some North African flair.

CEMENT FLOOR TILES – STYLISH AND STURDY

Cement is an incredibly hard-working material, and our cement floor tiles are no different. Naturally non-slip these unpolished, matte finish tiles are a great addition to our range. As functional as they are, being resistant to stains and bacteria, they offer lots by way of design too.

These highly decorative cement floor tile options can be used to carefully curate a period look in the home, such as in entryways and mudrooms. In kitchens, they contribute greatly to a country cottage theme or bohemian maximalist theme with their tasteful yet bright and jazzy designs.

A nice touch is to use them sparingly, using solid color cement tiles for the most part, but using a mosaic effect to frame the perimeter of the room, or cabinets, or to introduce a tile ‘rug’ into the center of the floor. Our beautiful cement floor tiles are a fun way to play with color and design and to make a definitive style statement.

CEMENT TILE BATHROOM – YOUR PERSONAL PARADISE

When properly sealed, there is no reason not to use cement tile in wet areas such as the bathroom. Cement tile bathroom ideas are plenty. With the versatility of the designs available you can tap into rustic and bohemian trends with ease. These busy designs in restful colorways strike the right balance between visual interest and soothing results.

In a guest bath, these tiles make for a pretty surround around a sink, but in larger bathrooms you can really embrace the fullness of these designs. Go for a half-tiled wall behind sanitary ware, and dress with accessories that bring out the vibrant energy of their contemporary curlicue designs.

HOW TO INSTALL CEMENT TILE

The principle for installation is the same as for porcelain or ceramic tile, although there are a few specific considerations to bear in mind. There can be variations in color in cement tiles, so where possible work from several boxes at a time and lay out a dry run, to see how they all look when laid together. This way, you can take out any tiles that don’t quite fit in with the rest.

When cutting the tiles, use a wet saw with a diamond blade for a clean, precise cut that prevents shattering. Sealing concrete tiles is also an important step, as they are more porous than other tiles. This should be done before the tiles are grouted to avoid grout on the tile surface being absorbed into the tiny pores and causing staining.

ARE CEMENT TILES DURABLE?

Cement tiles are durable, having a denser composition than ceramic. They can withstand heavy wear and tear and can be used both indoors and out. They cope well with exposure to sunlight and colors won’t fade over time.

CAN CEMENT TILE BE USED IN A SHOWER?

Cement tiles are suitable for use in a shower and are fully waterproof when properly sealed. They work equally well as backsplashes and flooring, and can be used in saunas too. Their natural anti-slip surfaces give them a distinct safety advantage in wet rooms.
