DO I HAVE TO USE SANDED GROUT FOR EXTERIOR MOSAICS?

When you’re using exterior mosaic tiles, it’s often the best choice to use sanded grout rather than unsanded. For any grout gap that is bigger than 1/8”, it’s always recommended to use sanded grout for your tiling project unless you are using polished stone or marble mosaic tiles. These can be softer than the quartz sand that is used in grout and therefore it’s best to opt for an unsanded grout in such cases. 

DO I NEED TO EXTERIOR SEAL FOR THINSET MOSAIC?

If you are tiling an outdoor are with thinset mosaic tiles you will need to add an exterior sealant to protect your freshly laid tiles from the weather. Choose a waterproof exterior sealant to ensure that your tiles will remain in place and will not be damaged by rain – a water-resistant sealant will not be sufficient for any tiles that will be regularly exposed to inclement conditions.  

IS MOSAIC OK FOR AN EXTERIOR ENTRYWAY?

Mosaic is an excellent choice for your exterior entryway. CAN MOSAIC BE USED OUTSIDE?

It’s certainly possible to use mosaic tiles outside as long as you carefully choose a suitable product. What if the warehouse closest to you doesn’t have the item you have selected in stock?

They can usually bring it in within a few days. If the manufacturer is willing to do this as a courtesy we will pass on that courtesy to you.  If there are any fees for this we will let you know so you can decide.  We always find out the exact timeline and email you to confirm if that is okay. If that doesn’t work for you then you will get a 100% refund. If it does, we proceed and email you when it is ready for pickup.
