    • LARGE FORMAT FLOOR TILES FOR ANY ROOM

    Whichever room is the focus of your remodel, large format floor tile can provide a solution to your needs. An ideal option for heavy traffic areas like kitchen and hallways, tile is durable and easy to care for. And there is no need for specialist cleaning products when a mild solution of warm soapy water is all that is needed to keep the surface clean and shiny.

    The main benefit of a large format floor tile is the reduction of tile joints when compared to standard tile sizes. By using larger tiles with fewer grout lines, the look is more restful, with less detail vying for your attention. This contributes to a feeling of flow which creates the impression of unhindered floor space, making your rooms feel more spacious and soothing. 

    If the room is large, you don’t have to be limited to classic linear stacked layouts. You can have a third overlap running bond, arrange your tile diagonally, or in rectangular tiles that mimic the dimension ratios of a subway tile, you can create some more intricate layouts such as basket weaves and herringbone patterns.

    All our tiles can withstand a considerable deal of wear and tear. Porcelain is harder than stone, and slightly more resistant to scratches, but both options are great for flooring.     LARGE FORMAT TILE - SHOWER FLOOR OPTIONS

    The first thing that springs to mind when tiling a bathroom or shower floor is traction. As a highly wet zone, we must bear in mind the potential to slip, so when choosing a tile for these areas it really is a matter of safety first. That said, your choice of large format shower floor tile need not be restricted when it comes to style.

    As a very dense tile, porcelain does not absorb a significant amount of water which prevents it from becoming slippery. Choose an unpolished tile with a matte or honed surface to provide more grip and you can have precisely the tile you want, but in a bathroom friendly format. Natural stone is also a great option in unpolished, honed or tumbled finishes. Any tiny pockets of unevenness will wick away water, preventing it from making a smooth and slippery surface.

    A large format tile shower floor is a wonderful alternative to a shower tray. Using the same tile on the wall as on the floor creates a feeling of flow, an all-round cocoon wet room style, that has an indulgent aspect providing the same practicality but with an extra bit of flair.

    LARGE FORMAT LIVING ROOM FLOOR TILE – CHIC, SLEEK AND HOMELY

    As an alternative to carpet, laminates and solid wood flooring, large format living room floor tile is easy to maintain and attractive in any décor scheme. While tile can sometimes be considered a cold material, it really isn’t the case. Tile can retain ambient temperatures, so a well-heated home in winter will allow some heat to remain within the tile. In fact, porcelain is often a main choice when choosing a tile for underfloor heating as it efficiently transfers heat.

    You can soften the look of floor tile in a living room, for example, by adding a rug for some texture. The finish of the tile you choose can make all the difference. Polished finishes will radiate light, giving a contemporary feel to the space, whereas honed and matte finishes have a softer luster that can feel more comfortable in spaces where you want to relax. Lighter colors will also make a room feel brighter and darker colors will make a room feel more intimate, as well as the other advantage of hiding any marks.

    Tile is also anti-allergenic so a good solution all around the home, making it easy to avoid a build up of pet hair and not attracting dust.
