End caps create a clean transition between flooring styles or where they meet sliding doors, whereas reducers make different height transitions possible, for example, between vinyl floor and carpet or vinyl floor and tile. By far the most useful trim is quarter rounds which add a curved edge to the side of the room where the vinyl plank touches a wall or a baseboard. If you are installing the vinyl plank on the stairs, then you’ll need to use stair nose to provide a smooth finish that is also safe.
