    HOW TO INSTALL VINYL STAIR TREAD COVERS

    It may seem difficult to install vinyl on your staircase but in fact it isn’t as challenging as you might imagine. Vinyl stair tread covers are typically installed with glue as this ensures a strong and secure result – something that’s essential for safety on staircases. However, if you opt for a vinyl plank click lock system for your stairs, you may not need to use glue at all. 

    HOW TO ATTACH VINYL STAIR TREAD TO STAIRS

    Vinyl stair tread can be attached to your stairs with adhesive. Make sure to use an s-pattern when applying the adhesive to the reverse of the tread so that it will hold most effectively to the surface. You should also hold the treads in place at each corner and edge with a nail. 

    DO YOU GLUE OR NAIL STAIR TREADS?

    You should both glue and nail vinyl stair treads into place on your staircase. First, apply the adhesive behind each tread then ensure it is being placed correctly. Press it into position with the glue in an s-pattern for the best result. You should also use screws and nails to hold your treads in place throughout the installation process. Put them along the corners and edges so they can be covered with the riser.
