Granite can certainly be used on your shower walls and it can create a luxurious and beautiful effect. Even better, granite shower walls are easy to care for and are highly durable. You can choose either granite slabs or tiles for your shower walls to create the look that you prefer. 

HOW DO YOU ATTACH A GRANITE SLAB TO A WALL?

A granite slab can be attached to a wall with a strong adhesive such as an epoxy adhesive that contains a mix of hardeners and resin. You must ensure that the surface of the wall is clean, dry, and free from any bumps before attaching the slab. In some cases, depending on the wall that you wish to attach the slab too, you may need to create a stronger surface by fixing backerboard to the wall before attaching the granite.

HOW TO BUILD A GRANITE WALL

You can create the appearance of a granite wall by using granite wall tiles. All you need to do is ensure that the wall on which you intend to install the tiles is clean, dry, and free from any lumps or bumps. Then mix sufficient thinset to the same consistency as peanut butter and, using a tiling trowel, spread it onto the surface, starting at the wall’s center, using upstrokes so no thinset will fall on the floor.

Apply the tiles to the thinset, working from your center line upwards. Use spacers to make sure the space is consistent between the tiles. When complete, allow the adhesive to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before applying grout to the surface of the tiles, taking care to work it well into the joints. After around 20 minutes, clean any excess from the surface with a damp sponge then leave for 72 hours to cure.
