If you're looking for the ultimate in on-trend contemporary design, you cannot go wrong with our Gray Basalt. The color of the moment incorporated into a natural and totally consistent stone, it really is the ideal tile for a modern home environment. It's mid to pale gray color is highly desired, and its reliability means it can be trusted to deliver time and time again. It's a stone that is often replicated by man-man porcelains, but nothing can compare to the real deal.
Basalt is created when magma reaches the earth's crust and hardens to form a solid stone. The cooling process allows tiny crystals to form, making it a medium-grained rock. Once it has been sealed, its naturally porous surface becomes relatively moisture resistant. It' s a durable and hardwearing stone, famous for its resilience and ability to be used just about anywhere in the home, exteriors included.
Any faults or pits within the stone's surface are totally ironed out with this silky-smooth honed finish. It is created by grinding the stone down, removing its top layer until a satin, matte finish is created. It is the ultimate contemporary surface, but as well as excelling in design, it also has incredible practicality.
More slip-resistant than a polished finish, even while the tile is wet it has sufficient traction. This makes it suitable for flooring throughout the home, including bathrooms that are likely to see water occur. It's also a finish with great durability. Where others can be worn-down, damaging their effect over time, a muted finish is maintained no matter how much wear and tear it faces. Gray Basalt is recommended for areas of high-traffic for this very reason -versatility defined.
The final effect is a modern design that can rarely be matched by any other natural stone. The stunning gray color is totally on-trend but is subtle enough that it will still look great in years to come.
Use it throughout the home to create a crisp and bright interior. Pair with brilliant white walls and gloss mid-gray kitchen cabinets for the ultimate in contemporary design. Alternatively, go for something a little more traditional with dark wooden skirting boards and furniture. Add eclectic patterned soft furnishings to add color and intrigue.
