    Carioca Gold is a salt and pepper patterned granite with a blend of black, pink and gold tones. While each tile has its own unique density of colors, the medium grain results in a consistent overall pattern. It is a great tile for adding a new dynamic to your kitchen design. Combine it with natural woods and textiles for an authentic country-inspired look with a touch of luxury.

    Granite is a seriously hardwearing stone. It is created when hot magma from the earth's core breaches a fault line in the earth's crust. The liquid rock bubbles up to the cooler temperatures above and solidifies. The rapid cooling process allows tiny crystals to form in the stone. The varying minerals create different colors and in Carioca Gold, the variation is large. Deep dark blacks contrast beautifully with pale creams and bright golds to create a spectacle of Mother Nature.

    As one of the hardest stones on the market, it is extremely resistant to wear and tear. It is difficult to scratch a granite surface and therefore it is suitable for countertops and hallway floors. It's also extremely resistant to heat. In most cases, a searing hot pan or hair styling iron will be no match for this durable stone. This makes it ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, and fireplaces.

    The brilliant colors within Carioca Gold Granite are highlighted with a polished finish. The surface of the tile is ground down until completely smooth and free of imperfections. It is then buffed until a high shine is achieved. The light reflecting surfaces means colors are enhanced to their full potential. Blacks are deepened and whites are brightened to create a stone with a full range of colorings. It's a gorgeous finish which truly brings out the best in the stone.

    It can be used for bathroom backsplashes and as a floor to ceiling shower tile. Once the stone has been sealed with a protectant, it is reasonably impervious to moisture, making it great for creating a luxurious wetroom or en-suite. It is easily wiped clean due to its completely smooth surface, meaning you can always keep it sparkling.
