Buckskin Sandstone is a warm and inviting blend of pink and golden orange. It is quarried in the heart of Arizona, a sandy desert environment, which lends itself to the creation of such a warm-toned stone. It has a subtle natural stone pattern with some evidence of layering and veining. This makes it non-uniform in pattern with some tiles displaying sweeping straight lines and others with swirling curves. Incorporate it into a country-style kitchen to bring some of that Arizonan desert heat inside the home. Or, add it to a classic style bathroom for the perfect combination of warmth and brightness.
Sandstone is a geologically sedimentary rock. It is formed when layers of minerals build upon one another. The pressure of their weight eventually cements each sheet together to form a hard stone. Like most natural rocks, sandstone is relatively porous, meaning steps must be taken to ensure its moisture resistance. A sealant can be applied to the surface of the stone to protect it from water and staining. When properly cared for sandstone can last for decades, making it the perfect addition to any home requiring a hardy timeless design.
To complement the stone's sandy texture, this tile has a honed finish. This is created by grinding the stone down to a level surface. The sanding process reveals a matte texture which is beautifully natural looking. This is a stunning finish which looks great on a softly textured sandstone. The stone feels gentle underfoot, making it ideal for flooring in living rooms and dining rooms that require a cozy environment.
A honed finish is not only great to look at, but it's also incredibly practical. A honed finish has sufficient traction to prevent slips and falls. This makes it ideal for homes with young children. And it can be used in areas of the home such as bathrooms and kitchens, where water is likely to occur.
It's also a fairly low-maintenance finish. While it will still require a regular clean to keep it looking its best, there is no need for regular polishing or professional attention. Stone sealant is sufficient enough to keep the stone long-lasting.
The neutral sandy tones of this Buckskin sandstone create a warm and inviting feeling within the home. Welcome guests with a tiled entrance hall floor that will brighten up your home with the Arizona sun. Add classic ornaments made from natural materials such as wood and stone for a back-to-nature country-style interior. In almost every room of the house, you can create a cozy experience with Buckskin sandstone. Pair it with creams and whites to let the brightness of the stone do all the talking or add a mix of rich browns to contrast and add design depth.
