Product Info

This Copper Slate gives the rugged gray stone a modern twist. Red, coppery tones appear like brushed metal, with those famous gray tones sweeping throughout. Each tile is unique, with its own original color balance. It is a fine-grained stone, with no evidence of crystals.

Slate is highly durable. It is naturally porous, so its surface must be treated to protect it from moisture and stains. Once this is completed it's generally easy to maintain. Gray slate is most commonly used on roof tiles, evidence of its ability to brave the elements. So there is no doubt that it will be able to resist the wear and tear of family life inside the home.

A metamorphic rock created by extreme heat below the earth's surface, slate has a quarried straight from the earth look to it. It has a layered appearance, which can be seen even after the tile is polished to the smooth finish.

The tile's finish has a gorgeous sheen to it. This process involves grinding down the natural texture of the stone to a smooth surface. It is then buffed until glossy. The reflective finish makes the room appear spacious and bright, giving even the smallest of rooms a lift.

The natural texture of the rock is still visible within the stone's pattern, but the tile feels soft and smooth underfoot. It is easy to clean as there are no grooves or ridges to catch the dirt.

A polished finish is more a more refined look. While most slate tiles come with a rugged, natural cleft face, a buffed stone is suited to those looking for a sleeker effect. It's ideal for decorative purposes such as walls and backsplashes, giving your design a uniquely beautiful edge.

Copper is the metal of minute. Up-to-date and totally on trend, these tiles are an interior designer's dream. Team them with a stunning white marble countertop and you have that opulent look everyone is aiming for. Alternatively, achieve a more traditional look with an Absolute Black granite counter, contrasting perfectly with the metallic accents of the tile.

These tiles look great as flooring. They also make the perfect complimentary kitchen backsplashes and work well on walls throughout the house. The presence of iron in the tile means it is not recommended for use outside. Subjected to the elements, the color of the tile can change over time, therefore if you wish to use a slate tile outside, pick one with no hints of red in the coloring.
