Titanium Travertine has a beautiful layered pattern consisting of natural brown, gray, and cream tones. Rich colored tans lie horizontally juxtaposed against charcoal grays and subtle ivories, creating a stylish yet relaxed design. Each stone has its own unique balance of shades, with varying degrees of clarity in its pattern.
Travertine is similar to limestone in its creation: minerals within a body of water are deposited in layers over a period of time. In the case of travertine, this involves a fast-moving stream such as a hot spring. As the layers increase, the pressure causes the minerals to cement together, creating a hard stone. Travertine is known for its tiny pits and holes; these are created by bubbles of gas during its formation process and are often filled to create a smooth surface.
While Silver Travertine's unique design is ideal for decorative impact, for example, as a kitchen backsplash, or bathroom wall, it is sturdy enough to be used as flooring in all areas of the home. Furthermore, it can also be used to create beautiful work surfaces, such as countertops and vanities.
These Silver Travertine tiles have a polished finish. Travertine does not hold a mirror-like finish in the same way as a granite or marble does, but the effect is still a beautiful light reflecting sheen, just a little subtler than its high-shine counterparts. The tile has been buffed until it is beautifully smooth, a process that removes the top layer of the stone.
A polished travertine is much less porous than some of its other natural stone counterparts, making it more resistant to staining. Despite this, you may still wish to seal your tiles with a stone protectant. This will help prevent oils or moisture from seeping into the stone and damaging its surface, thereby increasing your design's longevity.
This beautiful layered effect stone is ideal for adding a unique design feature to your interior. Silver travertine will transform a home from lifeless and drab to full of texture, color, and intrigue. Its natural color palette creates elegant and understated designs, pairing beautifully with creamy, natural tones, as well as on-trend grays and shades of warm brown and tan.
It works great as a wall tile in kitchen and bathroom designs. Team it with simple furniture and colors to let the stone's lined pattern do all the talking.
