HOW TO CHISEL LIMESTONE

If you chisel limestone you can cut the stone completely in two or create a hand-hewn edge for a rustic look. You need to use a hammer with the chisel, carefully tapping along the line that you wish to chisel until the effect you desire is created. 

HOW TO CUT LIMESTONE WITH A CHISEL

Cutting limestone with a chisel isn’t easy. Most people use an electric wet circular saw to cut through limestone since it’s a very hard and dense stone. However, it’s possible to cut it in the traditional way by using a hammer and a chisel to break off bits of rock. You’ll need to place the limestone on a strong, flat surface that’s covered with a towel or folded cloth to avoid damage to the limestone. Mark where you need to cut with a pencil then hold the chisel upright at the end of the pencil line. Strike with a hammer to dent the rock, moving along the line. Repeat, going back over and over the line until eventually the stone cracks. 

HOW DO YOU CARE FOR CHISELED LIMESTONE TILES?
