Warm and inviting Peach Blossom Sandstone is a lovely shade of pinky-orange. Unlike many stones which can look cold and harsh, this sandstone is anything but. It's a gorgeously exotic material, carved from quarries in India, but its subtle shades blend beautifully into just about any interior. Offset it with the right color tones and you'll have a beautiful and totally unique home.
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock, formed by layers of mineral deposits being compacted down. The process takes millions of years, but the result is a gorgeously sandy and hardwearing rock. For this reason, it can be used for a variety of applications, including flooring throughout the home, walls, backsplashes, and more. But it doesn't stop there, our Peach Blossom Sandstone tiles can also be used for external paving on paths, patios, and outdoor kitchens.
Whilst the stone is naturally porous, the risk of staining and moisture retention can be reduced by protecting the tile with a sealant. Once this is completed, it is a perfectly durable stone that has been used as a tile for centuries. A sealant will also enhance the stone's coloring, retaining that warmth and injecting vibrancy into your design.
Sandstone has a naturally granular texture. Just as its name suggests, it is sandy and earthy. This makes an ideal rock for leaving with a natural cleft face. These tiles are carved to the correct shape, level, and flat. The natural texture of the stone is left as it is, just how nature intended it. This finish highlights the stones innate qualities.
Design aside, this is an incredibly versatile finish. The texture gives the tile traction, meaning even while wet there is a certain slip resistance. This makes it great for exterior applications such as garden patio or walls, but also as kitchen and bathroom flooring.
It works great in high traffic areas of the home too. While sandstone is not quite as hardwearing as granite or marble, the textured finish means even in years to come the tile will still look flawless. Unlike a polished tile which may require a little maintenance to keep it looking its best, a cleft face is not dulled by overuse.
Peach blossom sandstone has a natural sandy texture, it's great for achieving an earthy look inside the home and out. Its beautifully warm pink and orange tones bring the Indian summer to where ever it is laid. Contrast it with pale matte gray tones for a truly modern look. Used outside, your garden will become the ultimate suntrap, perfect for whiling away those summer evenings.
