HOW DO YOU INSTALL A LARGE FORMAT TILE KITCHEN BACKSPLASH?

Generally speaking, a kitchen backsplash is either a stove backsplash immediately behind the cooking area, or it is a full wall installation running the full length of the cabinetry, from countertop to directly below the upper cabinets. Installing a large format tile kitchen backsplash is much like installing any tile.

Make sure your surface is level and clean before spreading adhesive mortar to the area the first tile will cover. Back butter the tile and lift into position. Press firmly to make sure the tile has a good bond with the wall. Insert spacers before repeating the process with the next tile.

When the tile has set, apply grout deep into the joints and leave to dry for fifteen minutes before wiping the excess away with a damp cloth. Leave to dry fully for at least 24 hours before use.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN A LARGE FORMAT BACKSPLASH TILE?

There are a host of tile cleaners available, but most tiles need only some soapy water and a soft cloth. Some people like to add vinegar to this solution, before buffing with a soft cloth for a grease-fee, streak-free shine.
