There are ways to polish granite yourself at home by using a stone polishing compound specifically designed to give granite surfaces an attractive and fresh gleam and to remove any small scratches or damages. You can use this compound dry by applying it to a buff polishing pad then working it over the surface using steady, circular motions. 

HOW TO MAKE POLISHED GRANITE

Granite polishing is carried out by sanding the stone over an extended period with pads that have increasing levels of abrasiveness until the stone is smooth with a mirror-like shine. Although it can be done by hand, it is usually done using a professional machine. HOW TO POLISH AND SEAL GRANITE

Polishing granite yourself can be achieved by using either a baking soda paste or a commercially available stone polishing compound, rubbed in a circular motion over the stone’s surface until its sheen is restored. You can then seal it using a commercially available granite sealant, painted onto the surface and allowed to dry.
